Turkish Tomato Soup

Sauté the onion and garlic in butter.

Add tomato paste and cook briefly; then add the chopped tomatoes.

Add vegetable broth and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.

Blend until completely smooth.

Pass through a sieve; add salt, sugar and thyme.

Stir in the cream and heat for 5 more minutes. Serve with toasted bread.
