Turkish Meatballs (Köfte)

Soak the stale bread in water, squeeze out the excess moisture and crumble.

Combine all ingredients in a deep bowl and knead for at least 10 minutes.

Rest the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Take palm-sized portions and shape into ovals.

Heat the grill or non-stick pan well and cook köfte 4-5 minutes each side.

Serve with cacık (yogurt dip), grilled tomatoes and bread.
